Our Story
Velàa finds its roots in Velate, a small neighbourhood in Varese, the founder’s hometown and the place where his story begins.
The name comes from the local Italian dialect, a language once spoken daily but now slowly fading with time. Dialect words often carry a quiet poetry that modern Italian has lost, holding fragments of history, culture, and emotion that feel timeless. Many of these words are disappearing, carrying with them the subtle ways communities once shared emotion, understanding and belonging. ​
Inspired by this legacy, Velàa seeks to carry that spirit forward, bringing new ideas to life while honouring the stories, memories, and values that shape who we are.​​​
The name also echoes vela, Italian for sail. A symbol of movement, direction, and flow. It embodies our way of working: guiding each project with clarity, navigating with purpose, and letting creativity move naturally with flow

Our Founder
Marco Morlotti began his journey with a Degree in Architecture from the University of Queensland, where he developed a deep understanding of design and spatial principles. He later joined Zanghellini & Holt Associates, one of Hong Kong’s leading F&B design studios, contributing to projects such as Bakehouse Soho, Bakehouse TST, Jade Garden Xiamen, and the concept design of the Hong Kong Country Club.​​
Growing up in a fast paced, International city such as Hong Kong has shaped Marco to become a multi-cultural and open minded individual. The trait of being an Italian born with international experience allows him to sync these cultural diversities and ideologies in his work.​​
Driven by a passion for interior and graphic design, Marco founded Velàa Studio with a clear mission: to help clients conceptualise, create, and grow their brands through cohesive, visually striking design solutions. Under his direction, the studio continues to explore meaningful and inspiring ways to elevate spaces, brands, and businesses.
